Ecosystems at School

In our lab we observed and described how different environments like microhabitats in school yards support different varieties of organisms. In our microhabitat, we observed different insects such as; slugs, snails, spiders, worms, and rolly poly’s. We also observed plants such as; grasses, wild onions, leaves, and moss. In the picture you can’t really see any of the insects, that’s because they were under the grasses and leaves. Our microhabitat was on a hill so there was lots of erosion. There are trees on the top of the hill, so there were lots if gumballs. In doing this project, we learned that all habitats are different even in small areas.
