“Practice Makes Perfect”

“Keep on, keep on” my mom always says. My mom was born in 1968 and grew up in Winnsboro, Louisiana with her brother, Clay and her sister, Kristie. Her mother is Pat Shivers and her father is Leon Shivers.

My mom is my hero no matter what. She’s there in the good times and the bad; if I’m doing good in school, she’s there. If I’m not doing so great in school she’s still there. As a mom, she’s AMAZING!

My mom is hard working. She gets up at 4:30AM on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, just so she can pick my sister, Keatyn and I up from school. Although she only works three days a week, she takes my sister and I to school on Thursday and Friday.

My mom cares about me and I know that I am lucky to have her. Some parents don’t care what their kids do; they don’t even care if they do their homework! I’m glad I have a mom who will take me to the doctor and care for me when I’m sick.

“Keep on, keep on” my mom always says.” My mom has always been and always will be my hero. I love my mom and she loves me.

Spring Break

My Spring Break was pretty cool; I helped save a dog’s life; We were at an animal shelter in Winnsburo, Louisiana. Mom, Punki( My granmother), andIi saw one of the dogs under the truck. We decided to get her out. We did and learned that she was a very frightened and scared Rottweiler and German Shepard Mix. I asked if she had a name and they said that  I could name her.  I named her Skittels because she was so skitish.  We also found out that is somebody didn’t adopt her that week, she was going to be put to sleep. Well, my Mom and I just couln”t resist. We called my Dad and explained the whole story to him and he said that he didn’t mind if we brought her home… to foster that is. Ms. Kim ( the main lady of the animal shelter) called and asked if we could come to the animal shelter one more time to help her give Skittels her shots. We came up there got her shots and looked at her teeth to find out about how old she was. We found out that she is between 2 and 5 years. The next day on our way to Texas, we stopped by the animal shelter one more time to pick Skittels up. We let her go to the bathroom and put her in her cage. It was sort of a tight squeeze because, we had a day bed that we were taking home for the playroom. We managed to fit everything though. Even though we had Bella with us. That’s the story of how Skittels came out of her shell.
